This week we welcome special guest Paul Lisicky (Lawnboy, Famous Builder, The Burning House, and Unbuilt Projects) to discuss one of his favorite novels, Jane Bowles’ Two Serious Ladies. It was the only novel Bowles ever published, and it kinda confounded us. Though Paul is full of wisdom to help set us straight.
Paul also talks about how the book influenced his own work, why he loves books that unsettle him, innovative fiction, and his recent appreciation for Lil’ Wayne.
As always, you can stream the episode right here on our site, or download it to play on your preferred media device. Or subscribe to the show in iTunes, Stitcher, Instacast, or whatever podcast delivery system you prefer, and make sure to never miss another episode.
Check out Paul’s new book, Unbuilt Projects, which we both heartily recommend. If you buy it from Powell’s, they’ll kick a little money in our direction. Win-win!
Also: it’s not too late to participate in our funding drive. We’re trying to raise $1,000 to purchase new audio equipment. We’ve got donor gifts! Get all the details here, and chip in via PayPal.
Thanks for listening. If you like the show, consider leaving us a review in the iTunes store, and passing the link along to your book-loving friends.
