Episode 95: Elissa Washuta, “Consumption”

We’re trying a new thing, listeners. Instead of themed, seasonal episodes, we’re going to just start talking about stories or essays in these non-book weeks. Unless that turns out to be a terrible idea, or we change our minds. But we’re at least giving it a shot this week. We talk about Elissa Washuta’s recent essay, “Consumption,” from the online journal Okey Panky. It’s about college binge drinking! Something we both know plenty about.

Also this week: Tom talks about his recent argument with his publisher over the title of his forthcoming (eventually) book. And Mike consults some internet sources to help him come up with a new title that will make everyone in the Algonquin marketing department happy.

As always, we’re happy to hear what you think about the stuff we talked about this week. You can email us directly, hit us up on Twitter, or just leave a comment here on the site. Also: we’re on Facebook, and gradually getting better about posting studio pics and links and such. So come visit us over there, like our page, etc. etc.
